Manahan, who is now compelled to seek a livelihood in the United States, has been for very many years an active worker in the Irish Republican Cause.’ The letter includes a short biographical account of Manahan’s career and notes that ‘any courtesy shown to him will be appreciated.’

Silver, Citro Hi-Land [Farms Company], 2608 Thirteenth Street, Gulfport, Mississippi, [USA] to notify that from the date of the letter Liam Managhan ‘will be in complete charge of all phases of our land development proposition at Maxio, Mississippi, otherwise known as the Citro Hi-Land Farms Company.’

Photocopy of a typed document [by Marianne Gallagher?] relating to Dr Maurice Connery and Liam Manahan and their involvement in Limerick County Council. The document appears to have been written as an article to complement two papers published in the 2003 edition of the Kilfinane Coshlea Historical Society Journal, one on Dr Maurice Connery by Jim Neville and the other on Liam Manahan by Denis O’Dwyer.

This collection consists primarily of Liam Manahan’s recollections of the Land League activities of his father, William Manahan, and his own republican nationalist activities between 1910 and 1921. The recollections, letters and press cuttings provide first-hand insights into the formation and activities of the Irish Volunteers in the Galtee area of North Cork, East Limerick and South Tipperary and the evolution of the Galtee Battalion into the East Limerick Brigade.

Large white envelope on which is written a sketch of the Manahan family tree and a potted biography of Liam Manahan.

This series contains Liam Manahan's recollections of his nationalist activities in the early 1900s and some related documentation compiled by his daughter, Marianne Gallagher.
