She will be returning to Ireland shortly, after a few days with Lorna Reynolds. She has a great number of recordings to make for Radio Éireann. She has had bad reports of things at The Fort, which makes her anxious. She is looking forward to spending time at Strand House, where she can work in peace. Kate’s time in London has not been restful, but it has been fruitful and she believes that her [financial] decisions have been in the right direction.

Kate thanks Anne for a copy of [the 14 February 1955 issue of] Time Magazine, which carried an article on opera singer Renata Tebaldi and a review of her debut at the Metropolitan Opera, New York. She mentions a brochure she wrote in praise of Limerick and a letter from Ted Russell [Mayor of Limerick] to thank her for writing it. She talks about Peter’s wedding photographs and asks Anne to remind her next time they meet to give her some of the observations arising from them made by Roundstone residents. She mentions one of these, made by a Mrs Connolly, who enquired if the bride’s teeth were her own.
