Other topics include his wife’s deteriorating health; his own health problems and hospitalisation in July and August; the progress of My Time in Irish Travel ‘at snails pace’; and the request by the Corcadorca Theatre Company in Cork city to submit three plays for consideration for their Playwright Award 2002.

The letters also contain accounts of Gallivan’s wife, who is very ill, and his own health problems. In a letter written in November, Gallivan informs McMorrough of his decision to move into a nursing home, being too frail to live on his own. Also copy letter to Laurie Lam, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, enclosing a copy of his Four Plays.
