Other topics include his wife’s deteriorating health; his own health problems and hospitalisation in July and August; the progress of My Time in Irish Travel ‘at snails pace’; and the request by the Corcadorca Theatre Company in Cork city to submit three plays for consideration for their Playwright Award 2002.

In a letter written in November, Gallivan informs McMorrough of his decision to move into a nursing home, being too frail to live on his own. Also copy letter to Laurie Lam, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, enclosing a copy of his Four Plays.
