She apologises for not having written to her for a few days, but she was too crippled with anxiety to do so. She had decided on a similar opening treatment to Mary Magdalen as the one Lorna proposed. She asks Lorna to bring a copy of the script of Swear Not by the Moon to London and is looking forward to seeing here there on 27 June. With envelope.

She is making final arrangements for their trip to France but feels very unprepared. There is a transport strike in Dublin, but she managed to get home from the airport. She was shocked at Eleanor’s appearance and the feeling of sadness that permeated the house. Dublin seems very slow after Paris. She thanks Kate for her great kindness during the summer. With envelope.

She feels dull and unable to make decisions or arrangements. She is still hoping to escape the New York expedition and to get to Dublin in mid-October. She hopes Lorna and Eleanor will benefit from the electric blanket. She is sorry to hear that Darina Silone’s husband is ill. With envelope.

Lorna has received the electric blanket but it does not appear to be working and she is unsure what to do. She is slowly getting back into the routine of continuous work. She is reading Andé Gide’s Attendu Que and finds it provocative and stimulating. She and Eleanor will try and find a place for Kate to stay if she is coming to Dublin in October.
