She hopes to have begun another book before returning to Ireland. She relates that the American publishers have rejected the title That Lady and will publish the book under the title For One Sweet Grape instead. The end of the letter has been cut out.

Kate thanks her and Stephen for their invitation to stay with them at the Hibernian for Mary’s first night, which she was unable to accept, being too tired and in arrears with work. She enjoyed her recent jaunt into the Alpes Maritimes, where life is cheap and attractive. She mentions Mary O’Neill, who has had a marvellous escape from a misadventure, which has left her with facial injuries. She finishes off by hoping that she may have another first night for Anne and Stephen during the winter.
