Video tape containing copies of recordings from Sony V-32 16mm reels (for which see P22/2/5/2). The contents include Dutch TV news broadcasts relating to Herrema’s abduction (duration 2 hours and 40 minutes); documentary reconstruction of the kidnapping entitled Life at Stake (for which see P22/5/2/1), broadcast on BBC in 1983 (00:56:00); and a reconstruction broadcast on RTÉ in 1976 [?] (00:26:00). Also a partial copy of an 8mm film (for which see P22/4/1/1/5/2) by Willie Lutse at a reception at Ferenka to welcome Herrema back after his kidnapping. Also an explanatory note in Dutch.

120-minute cassette tape containing recordings of Dutch radio broadcasts relating to Herrema’s abduction. Side 1 contains broadcasts from 3 to 15 October; Side 2 from 15 to 22 October. The broadcasts on Side 2 include an English-language statement by the Netherlands Government and other English-language fragments of interviews; the news on this side revolve around the recording sent by the kidnappers to the Gardai, and the discovery of the hiding place of Herrema and his abductors in Monasterevin.

60-minute cassette tape containing recordings of Dutch radio news broadcasts announcing Herrema’s release from captivity, and of a press conference during which Herrema responds to queries made by reporters. Also on Side 1 are the first five minutes of Herrema’s interview in English with M. O’Briein the day after his release. The interview continues on Side 2 for approximately 3 minutes. The rest of Side 2 is blank.
