In this letter, Herrema congratulates Hardwicke on his performance and explains his reasons for refusing to co-operate with the BBC or Hardwicke personally during the production of the film.

I am almost certain she cut her hair after teaching us in 1921. I would say from the pinched look on her face it could have been taken during her marriage.’
