Part of The Hella Scholz Papers

From Bill in Wheatley. Bill is still looking for a letter from Hella. He finds it strange to be working in a lab when she is not working there too. He is waiting for the opportunity to go to London to sort out the forms and to pay the twelve and a half pounds for her to come to England. He thinks there may be a chance she could get work in the lab. The nearest town is Oxford but he does not know it well, having only been there twice so far. He sends her his love and asks her to write soon. With envelope.

Part of The Hella Scholz Papers

From Bill in Wheatley. Hetells Hella how much he is in love with her and is worried that she is not writing. He refers to honeymoon plans; since arriving in England he has managed to save a bit. He is also still due 28 days’ leave for signing on in 1947. There is to be an inspection in the lab that day. He asks her if she managed to sell the binoculars. He asks what she is going to do with the camera and suggests a good idea would be to sell it and help Hella’s mother with the money. He is going to give this letter to Dom in case Jimmy is putting them in his pocket and forgetting about them. With envelope.
