In addition, O’Brien’s brothers, Michael and Gerry, and sister, Clare O’Brien. Also includes O’Brien’s brother-in law, Stephen O’Mara, and friend, Father Vincent Philips of The Abbey, Galway City.

Mortgage dated 10 April 1899 between William Henry Edmond de Vere Sheaffe, [4th] Earl of Limerick (mortgagor) of the 1st part; and Jannetta Ann Millin of 38 Dukes Avenue, Chiswick, London, widow and Charles Frederick Kennedy of 110 Cannon Street, London, solicitor (mortgagees) of the 2nd part of a policy of assurance on the life of the mortgagor granted by the Equitable Life Assurance Society on 10 April 1899 for the sum of £500, to secure the repayment of £150 paid to the mortgagor by the mortgagees. Also a related agreement dated 4 January 1900 between Alice Tullette, Grand Hotel, Brighton, Sussex and parties of the earlier mortgage, assigning to Alice Tullette a policy of assurance on the life of the Earl. The Earl of Limerick having been unable to pay the sum of £75 owing to the mortgagees and in consideration of their forbearance to press for its immediate payment that sum and interest shall be taken from the said policy of insurance in priority to any moneys due to Alice Tullette. Also a reassignment and release of the policy of assurance dated 19 September 1900 to Alice Tullette, all monies owing to the mortgagees for which the policy acted as security having been paid.

This sub-series relates to Samuel Moore the elder and his eldest son Gerard Moore’s decision to raise a sum of £12,500 by way of a mortgage to facilitate the payment of various debts and encumbrances affecting the Moynehall estate. Benjamin Eyre agreed to advance the sum, provided that the title to the estate was valid and free from encumbrances. Following Eyre’s death in October 1834, his relative James Eyre Jackson took over the matter.
