Letter from Hella Scholz to Günther Junge
IE 2135 P14/5/2/1/101 · Objekt · 15 January 1944
Teil von The Hella Scholz Papers

From Hella in Crimmitschau. Hella had hoped to have had a letter from Günther. She really enjoyed the biscuits he sent. After eating one she went to bed and had a lovely dream about him. She stops writing to go for lunch and comes back disappointed. There was swede for lunch. The final exams are fast approaching, though she doesn’t think that they will have to do the whole diet, but can choose which subjects to be examined in. She suspects this is so that the teaching staff can leave early to be trained as helpers for the Luftwaffe. She gives her weight and asks if he is now happy that she is not wasting away. She closes by saying she is off to sleep as they are all supposed to take an afternoon nap. With envelope.

Letter from Hans Bratengeier to Hella Scholz
IE 2135 P14/5/2/2/14 · Objekt · 27 July 1946
Teil von The Hella Scholz Papers

From Hans in Sprendlingen. It is Saturday, Hans’ favourite day of the week as he only has to work a few hours. He makes a few comments on the state of agriculture. He likes the fruit harvest most of all. He has just had a coffee break and some plum cake and asks if there is any fruit in Berlin. If there was a way to send some to Hella in Berlin he would. He complains again about Herr Schwitzke. From Hella’s letters it sounds as though she has everything she needs but he hopes she is not paying too high a price for this. He would have preferred it if she was working for an English company [and not for the British military]. He hopes that the zone borders are soon opened. His first trip would be to Berlin. Recently he has managed to re-establish contact with Berlin firms and friends and so is up to date on conditions there. He asks what she will be doing that evening. He will be accepting an invitation and going dancing. Before this he will go for a swim with his Alsatian puppy.

Teil von The Hella Scholz Papers

From Bill at 29 Hannover BMH to Hella at Bristol Hill Hospital, Berlin. Bill states that the papers for Hella to travel have been sent through official mail to Major Baggs along with a letter asking him to help her. He reminds her that the papers belong to her alone and nobody else and tells her to get Major Baggs to sign the papers saying that she has priority. He has arranged for them to celebrate her arrival with Willi and his girlfriend, as Willi has done so much to help. He finishes the letter by thanking her for her last letter and asking her to write again soon, also saying how much he loves her. With envelope.
